Weekly Announcements

COVID-19 Regathering Update & Guidelines: The Church Council met this past Sunday to evaluate Winter Park’s COVID-19 regathering strategy and concluded that our church should be very proud of how we have managed to come back together safely and smoothly over the last two months. We thank all who have helped our congregation stay healthy together by being responsible in making decisions about attendance and considering the health of the brothers and sisters who share this space with us.

Unfortunately, the virus is currently surging and our nation is bracing for the spikes that will inevitably come as a result of holiday travel. As a result, the Church Council would like to reiterate the following guidelines for you to consider in making your decisions about whether or not to worship virtually or in person over the coming weeks. The Council requests that members and friends of Winter Park participate in online services if any of the following circumstances are met:

If you are sick, have a fever, or exhibit other symptoms of COVID-19
If you have been tested for COVID-19 and are waiting for a result
If you have tested positive for COVID-19
If anyone in your household is sick
If you’ve been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19
If you have recently visited with family members or others who are outside your normal circle of contact
Again, our church has done a terrific job in regathering. Let’s keep up the good work so we can continue to be together safely and encourage one another regularly as we endure this third wave. Thanks so much for your help during this time, and for loving your Winter Park neighbors as yourself.

2020 Christmas Music Program: We’re thrilled to announce our 2020 Christmas Music Program, which will stream online on Sunday, Dec. 20 at 7pm. Tune in for the online experience via our website, Facebook, the Winter Park App, or YouTube; and sing along with us wherever you are! We’ll revisit some special songs from Christmas programs over the last decade, as well as introduce a few new pieces for 2020! And don’t worry if you can’t catch the live stream,  you can watch it online anytime afterwards or tune in for our cable television broadcasts on Tuesday at 7pm and Wednesday at 9:30am to watch it (Wilmington Spectrum Cable, Channel 43 or 464 HD).

Christmas Eve Services: We're hosting two in-person Christmas Eve Services on Thursday, December 24 at 5pm and 7pm, as well streaming the 7pm service online. The 5pm service will be family and children oriented and hosted in the Community Center, and and the 7pm service will be a traditional candlelight service in the sanctuary.

Christmas Eve services will be limited to 125 participants in the community center and 150 in the sanctuary; and we request that everyone who plans to attend please register online or call the Winter Park Office to reserve your spot.

Lastly, based on guidance from local medical professionals and the directives of Church Council, Winter Park Baptist Church requests that you participate in the online service instead of the in-person services if you have family or friends visiting from out of town.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation and flexibility as we seek to consider others before ourselves, putting God's love into action by protecting the medically vulnerable in our community.

Christmas Caroling: We will not be able to go churchwide caroling as we usually do on the Sunday night before Christmas. There are too many safety concerns with packing into the bus, vans, and living rooms of our homebound members. However, we would like to suggest an alternate plan for caroling. How about if your family would go and carol to a homebound member or a neighbor that you think has had a tough year? You could even invite one or two other families to drive or walk and meet you there to sing. We suggest you remain outside at the homes, and remember, the smiles as you sing are even more meaningful than the vocal quality of your group. If you need a suggestion of someone to carol to from our homebound list, please contact the church office at 910-791-4725.

Art Exhibit and Silent Auction: Today's the last day to bid! Go to to get registered, view all the items, and place your bids. If you have any trouble registering or navigating the site, click on the "FAQ" and "How to Guide" buttons on the homepage. They will provide all the instructions you need to successfully register and bid on items, or click here to be automatically taken to the How to Guide.

A debit or credit card is required before the system will allow you to bid online. However, if you do not wish to use a card, you can find Lance after each of the Sunday services, and he will help you with walk up kiosk bidding, which will allow you to pay with check or cash should you win the item.

The Steeple Silent Auction will be live until 6:00pm on Sunday, December 20th, and all proceeds will go to Winter Park Elementary School.

If you cannot find the answers to your questions in the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) or the How to Guide on the auction site, feel free to email Lance at
