Mike and his family came to Winter Park in July 2001. His wife, Shirley, is on staff at another church in Wilmington so their three children have 2 church families. His ministry with spiritual formation as well as missions has provided opportunities to represent Winter Park in the community and beyond. Mike currently serves as the Vice Chairman of the Board for 13th Street Home for Women (2016-current), Vice President of Hope Changes Everything
(2014-current), served on the Board of Directors for Wilmington Health Access for Teens
(2013-2016), and is currently on the CBFNC
Mike graduated from Messiah College with a B.A. in religious education in 1995 and quickly left the snowy hills of PA to earn his M.Div in Congregation Leadership in 1999 from the Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond. In his spare time Mike enjoys spending time with his family, creating and updating websites, kayaking, and ultra-distance running.
Some of his favorites include running on the beach, reading books about Nepal (where he lived as a child), running in the rain, anything made by Apple, the movie Shadowlands, running anything more than 20 miles, Jimmy Buffett, attempting to fish…did he mention running?
